Waves

ca. 12 x 12"
This is what I've been working on for a few days...after making the other curvy pieces in the manner that Hope Cox Ayers taught me years ago, she told me the curvy ways of another quilter, Joyce Cambron, that are even slicker!
A New Spin on Curved Piecing (Leisure Arts #5273)
Although it's taken me these 4 squares to get a good handle on it, because the tight curve of the wave is too difficult to get under the presser foot on the sewing machine. Lots of frustration erupted.
All the other curved seams were dreamy.
I had tried several ways to get the tip of the wave too, but I'm not happy with any of them.
I am going to do some curvy borders on it today.
As usual, the coloring of my photograph is way off...after I get the borders on I'll take another photo and try to have the right lighting for the true colors.

  2. LOVE these curves. Would you be willing to share your knowledge at Cave Women? We could try it out ... maybe. See you Monday night.
