Just a few changes.

Jenna and Me on Facebook

Jenna:
Can I come over Thursday. And friday instead? I'm getting a hair cut in wedensday

Debra:
Yes

Jenna:
oh, and can we make spun sugar?

Debra:
no

Jenna:
whhhhhyyyyyy noooooottttt?

Debra:
You can make that mess at your house. :-D

Jenna:
i already did!!!!

Debra:
then why make it again?

Jenna:
because me and my neighbor tried to do it. I think we messes up the measuring. So it didnt stretch,, it fell in lumps. then we added more water and corn syrup, cooked it more. and burned it. oh-we also caught the pan on fire. That wasnt fun. We ended up burning it and pouring it in a sheet and trying to eat it, but it tasted to bad.....you see why i need someone with more experience????

Debra:
BWAAAA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA! Never start the house on fire with out an adult present.

New Joanns opened in Roseville!

And....

I added another slideshow to the top of the right column, titled "My Quilts".
I have to get my 'collection' of works put together. Some day I'd like to set up a temporary studio to photograph everything professionally.

MCQ's Melange a Trois Challenge

I'm still here! I've been busy coming up with my melange a trois piece for MCQ. So far it's called "Primary Colors" just because I had to turn the entry sheet in on Monday at MCQ's meeting and it had to have a name.
What it really is, I have no idea. I'm just makin' it up as I go. I actually had some of the red stitched with embroidery floss but I took it out because...as usual...I start getting the 'real' ideas after I've started. Ya know, the "Dang, I shoulda"s.
My current plan is to keep going with the stitching, and add black and white beads to the curvy edges of the black and white. After that my "I shoulda" turns into "I dunno".
I'm thinking of adding timtex and finishing the edges with a zigzag like I do the postcards.

Waves

ca. 12 x 12"
This is what I've been working on for a few days...after making the other curvy pieces in the manner that Hope Cox Ayers taught me years ago, she told me the curvy ways of another quilter, Joyce Cambron, that are even slicker!
A New Spin on Curved Piecing (Leisure Arts #5273)
Although it's taken me these 4 squares to get a good handle on it, because the tight curve of the wave is too difficult to get under the presser foot on the sewing machine. Lots of frustration erupted.
All the other curved seams were dreamy.
I had tried several ways to get the tip of the wave too, but I'm not happy with any of them.
I am going to do some curvy borders on it today.
As usual, the coloring of my photograph is way off...after I get the borders on I'll take another photo and try to have the right lighting for the true colors.

Now I'm the Energizer Bunny, I keep going and going....

This is the 2nd "Another blue and white quilt" in rows. And the Harry Potter #6 book I listened to. I'm on #7 now, it's only 21 hours and 4 minutes of listening.
I started putting the borders on this evening.

Recycling old posts.

I'm finally working on the blue and white 9 patches from a Linda Dixon class from when I lived in Idaho.
Since I did the first half last summer, and I'm making a 2nd quilt top out of the other half of 9-patches I thought I'd just recycle that post since it looks identical!
